For twenty years, The First Academy has been fulfilling its mission, "to prepare children for life as Christian leaders who choose character before career, wisdom beyond scholarship, service before self, and participation as a way of life." Since its founding, the basics of The First Academy have remained rooted in Christian faith and academic rigor. Today, TFA launches into the future with a determined resolve to provide an outstanding education for its students from a Christian perspective.

A complete TK-12 campus housed in one location will provide the best opportunity to maximize learning and achievement with modern, state-of-the-art classrooms and facilities. A new Middle/Upper School building and an additional Lower School wing will increase classroom space and facilitate a capacity for expanded enrollment in all grades; an addition of locker rooms and a concession area will complete the home stadium at the Payne Stewart Athletic Complex; and a five-court tennis complex will provide a venue for athletic competition, as well as additional opportunities for community outreach.

For more than two years, the School Committee with Headmaster Steve Whitaker have examined the question of how best to plan for the future of The First Academy - seeking input from parents, students, alumni, faculty, and friends. Their conclusions regarding completing the dream of the founders have given birth to The Twenty-Twenty Campus Completion Capital Campaign. A total need of $17 million has been identified for the plan. Because of God's blessings over $10 million have been pledged and/or given at the end of the 2005-2006 school year. 100% of our school staff has pledged to prayerfully consider the gift God would have them give. For the dream to become a reality, the prayer of the leadership at The First Academy is for 100% of our families to partner with us in this endeavor.

The Annual Fund, which has brought an added sense of philanthropy to the TFA mission, will be included as an element of the campaign. Annual giving is important to the school in that funds provide a margin for excellence above and beyond tuition-funded programs. Annual giving allows for necessary growth for student scholarship, faculty development, technological improvements, and general programming. The Twenty-Twenty Campaign will make annual giving an integral part of the campaign.

Securing $17 million is a God-size task for His people to accomplish. We must rely on His leading as we work diligently and boldly toward this goal. When the goal is accomplished and the campus is complete, we will be able to give God the glory for what He has done through His people.
