Seventh grade is a transitional year in middle school in which students assume more responsibility and lean less on parents for academic support. This year students have the opportunity to take Honors English where we focus more on critical thinking and the writing process. Third quarter the students have the opportunity to complete a research paper on a historical figure. In Math the students may take General Math or Pre-Algebra, depending on their ability level. Seventh grade students that meet the requirements may also be asked to join the National Jr. Honor Society. The highlight of the year is the two-day field trip to the Florida Keys where we go snorkeling, slogging, and take an airboat ride. It is an exciting time.
