TFA's First Grade is.....wiggly teeth, boundless energy, toothless grins, joy-filled hearts, inquisitive minds and question upon question!

"Reading, 'Riting and 'Rithmetic" are just a few subjects in our wonderful First Grade curriculum. Along with these basics, we work extensively on Phonics, Spelling, Science, Bible, Handwriting and Social Studies. We want to establish a love for Jesus, a love for learning and a love for reading in each and every child.

Our focus is on the mastery of each skill and our goal is to build a solid foundation in each subject. Throughout our curriculum we use hands-on experiences in math and reading centers, as well as providing independent work for our students. To foster the love for literature, we base our units on our CLIP program (creative language through literature - an integrated program) Each month is filed with wonderful books and GREAT activities designed to draw the children into the world of literature and reading. First grade is filled with fun, friends and fabulous amounts of learning.
