| Eighth
grade is a transition year in which students move
from thinking concretely to more applied, problem-solving
processes. This transition includes gradual increase
in expectation and weighting but with appropriate
work load for middle school. In addition to the core
classes, the students are required to take Computer
Applications. Also, the opportunity to begin high
school level courses is available in Math (Algebra)
and Foreign Language (Spanish 1). Students are strongly
encouraged to take part in the grade level trip to
our nation's capital in Washington, D.C. Most sports
and extra-curricular activities are available to 8th
graders as student-athletes and talented performers
prepare themselves for eventual varsity level participation.
